As visitors plan their trips to Durmitor National Park and other destinations in Montenegro, it is essential to stay informed about current road conditions and construction works. The following information outlines the state of road closures and ongoing works across the country.
Current Traffic Conditions
Traffic is flowing without extraordinary restrictions on most roadways. However, drivers are urged to adjust their driving to road conditions and adhere strictly to traffic regulations, especially in areas where construction is taking place.
Specific Road Closures and Traffic Changes
1. Đurdevića Tara Bridge Reconstruction
- Location: M-6, Pljevlja – Žabljak
- Impact:
- Total traffic ban for heavy vehicles (over 3.5 tons), until completion.
- Passenger vehicles and buses will experience alternating traffic from June 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026, with complete stoppages from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
2. Asphalt Works on M-3
- Location: Pluzine – Jasenovo Polje
- Impact:
- Total traffic suspension from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM until completion.
3. Regional Road R-29 (Bar-Kamenički most-Krute)
- Impact:
- Complete traffic suspension for all vehicles from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
4. Regional Road R-17 (Čevo-Ridjani)
- Impact:
- Complete traffic suspension from December 16, 2025, to completion, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
5. M-2 (Mojkovac-Slijepač Most)
- Impact:
- Alternating traffic from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM until June 2, 2026, due to maintenance works.
6. Kruče Bridge Repairs
- Location: M-1, Bar-Ulcinj
- Impact:
- Alternating traffic from May 13, 2026, to June 1, 2026.
7. Construction on R-30 (Petnjica-Bioča)
- Impact:
- Total traffic suspension from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM until June 30, 2026.
8. Sozina Tunnel Works
- Impact:
- Alternating traffic with possible complete stoppages from January 19, 2026, to June 15, 2026, during nighttime hours (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
9. Center of Tuzi Road Adaptation
- Impact:
- Alternating traffic from March 13, 2026, until completion.
10. R-13 (Matesevo-Kolasin)
- Impact:
- Alternating traffic from May 26, 2026, to May 30, 2026, from 11:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
11. Traffic Restrictions on R-1
- Impact:
- Heavy vehicles (over 7.5 tons) banned from May 25, 2026, to October 15, 2026, daily from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM.
- Complete traffic restrictions for all vehicles from May 25, 2026, to October 15, 2026, during specified hours.
