Camps and Lodges - Durmitor mountain lodges
There are two mountain lodges in the Park: ”Škrka“ and ”Sušica“ as well as two mountain shelters (bivouacs) in the Park which are not intended for longer stays. There are also numerous camp areas, scroll bellow to get more info.
Mountain Lodges and camping
Mountain lodge "Škrka" was built between the Veliko and Malo Škrčko lake, on the hiking trail that leads to Bobotov kuk. It has a large hall with 20 seats, two twin bedrooms and palače - wooden benches for sleeping which can accommodate a total of 9 people. Regardless of whether you use beds or the palačes, sleeping bags are necessary.
There is a fully-equipped place for tents around the lodge. The lodge is open from mid-June to the end of September and has its host. Mountain lodge "Sušica" is located near the Sušica lake, near the road that forms the Durmitor ring. The lodge has four twin bedrooms, a bar, a fireplace and toilets. There is also the possibility of setting up tents around the lodge. The lodge is open from late June to late September and has its host.
There are two mountain shelters (bivouacs) in the Park which are not intended for longer stays of mountaineers, but only as a shelter during longer trekking tours or in case of bad weather conditions. Lokvice mountain shelter (1800 m.a.s.l.) is located on the main hub of Durmitor and it can accommodate 20 people.
In addition to the lodge, there is a place for setting up tents and the drinking water is also provided. It is open all year round. Alpine shelter -Velika kalica valley (2020 meters), situated between high cliffs of Šljemena and Savin kuk, with the capacity of 6 -12 beds. It is open all year round.
Auto Camp "Mlinski Potok"
Nestled in Durmitor National Park at 1,472 meters above sea level, Auto Camp "Mlinski Potok" (check out their prices here)is just 2 km from the city center and a breezy 15-minute stroll to the enchanting Black Lake. With a spacious 1,000 m² camping area, it’s equipped with toilets, showers and a self-service kitchen—basic things you need for a laid-back stay. Mobile homes can plug into electrical connections and dispose of waste easily. Oh, and it’s on the radar of ADAC and ACSI camping guides.
Camp at Boće (Kod Boće)
Located just 2.1 km from the heart of Žabljak at an elevation of 1,450 meters, Camp at Boće sits within the stunning Durmitor National Park. This camp features a fenced area of 2,000 m² with accommodations that include:
- 11 double bungalows
- 50 tent sites and 30 parking spots for campers
- 4 shower stalls, 6 restrooms and 9 sinks
- 3 washing stations for clothes and hiking boots
- 3 drying areas for laundry
- Some seating areas for relaxation, accommodating up to 20 people
- Offers fire pits for cozy gatherings and grilling
- A kitchen equipped with refrigeration, a stove, and utensils, along with a dining area for 30 guests
The parking area is illuminated at night for added safety.
